Yesterday when I started up my computer for some reason it asked me for my product ID Key number. So when I entered the number everything was gone from my computer. There is no user accounts to log on, there is nothing on the screen only my destop picture. Do I have to reinstall or reboot the system back to its original settings? Have I lost all my data and programs and is it possible to recover any of it.? What might have caused this, because earlier that day my sister had been using the computer to check her emails? Did we get virus or is hardware problems?

Thanks

Ruairi (from Ireland)

For this you may have to install your system back to its original settings This can be easily done with system restore wich allows you to reverse any unwanted changes Virus could be passed through e-mails so it is a possibility.
