Go to the device manager to check for a resource conflict, to get to the device manager right click my computer and select properties then select the hardware tab, click on device manager You must check to see that the device manager does not report an error with device driver installtion, you can tell when there a problem because of the yellow exclamation point (look in system devices and sound video and game controller for your problem) Click on the item with the exclamation point, then click troubleshoot

If that don't work look for conflicting DMA channels, I/O address, or IRQ number To check this stay where you are just click on ports, then double click on each item and click on the resource tab, just look to see if any of them share the same DMA channels, I/O address, or IRQ number If so uncheck automatic setting and click on change setting
