HOW DO I KEEP UNESSECARY PROGRAMS FROM STARTING UP IN XP.

I would like to shut down some of the programs that startup that I dont need upon startup, How do I do this with windows xp?

GO INTO THE PROPERTIES FOR THE PROGRAMS, AND CLICK OFF THE LOG ON AT STARTUP OR YOU COULD DISABLE THEM FROM WITHINSIDE THE PROGRAMS THEMSELVES, OR DELETE IF YOU DON'T USE THEM
