Why is my computer so slow.

my computer is very slow. disk defragmentation and virus scan also can't be run. my c: drive is in NTFS . my cdrom also doesn't work, so i can't format my computer.what shall i do to make it fast?

You could have programmes on your computer that is slowing up the process if you have spyware that could be the cause, also, you may need to upgrade memory (RAM) Delete unnecessary programmes first, then try upgrading.
