Deleting file off a floppy?

How do i delete write protected files from 3 1/2 inch floppy disks. I need to delete all the files off of a lot of old disks and I am unable to do so because I always get the write protected message. Please help me.

Make sure that the floppy disks are not write protected, to do this look to the top top right side on the back of the diskette, there is a little tab that should be in the down position this will guarantee that the disk is not right protected.
