how do i save a gif format image with internet explorer?
when i click "save as", the only two formats there, are, art(.art) and bitmap (.bmp)

You should be able to save a GIF image as bitmap and then be able to retrieve the image when needed Or you could buy the Paintshop software and install it on your computer that way you can convert to GIF or JPEG, etc To save a GIF image, click the save as dialogue box type in a file name and in the save as type box, select .bmp and save.
