I have a Compaq Presario 1200 purchased in March of 2000. I suspect what I'm asking is laughable but it will make my husband happy. He thinks I should try to upgrade the darned thing to use with cable and put Windows XP on it, as well as upgrade the memory. I think this would be throwing good money after bad but if there's a chance I can make it workable I'll use it. I do own a desktop that does everything I want it to so it's not my only computer.

Can this laptop be spiffed up to use with cable and can I load MS Windows XP on it, as well as upgrade the memory?

FROM VIEWING YOUR SPECS, IT CAN BE DONE, BUT MEMORY NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED, 128MEG SHOULD RUN, BUT MAKE IT 256MEG TO RUN SMOOTHLY BUT TO BE CERTAIN, NEED TO KNOW THE MODEL OF AMD PROCESSOR.
