I have a dual boot system with the drive split for each OS. Win98 on one win 2000 on the other. Windows 98 works just fine but windows 2000 at startup gives me messages of a bunch of files missing, such as Ms word, and Norton Antivirus files. When I try to do anyhting, like right click, it gives me a popup telling me access to the specific file is denied. Any sort of .exe file it says is missing. My Anti-virus will not load, although teh file is clearly there. I have run my antivirus through windows 98 for windows 200 and it found nothing. What could be the problem?

Apparently from the description of your problem it very well seems that you have a virus which has infected th e portion of the hard drive that windows 2000 is installed on - from my experience this is very tricky to fix - One way is to install it as a secondary drive on a windows 2000 machine and then runnning your antivirus software on all the drives, second option is more like a last resort - which is to reinstall windows 2000 and all you applications that you had installed If you can try the first alternative with a frient if you do not have another computer to do this if not you may have to go with the second option.
