I had my computer running great, after my friend so called "fixed it". It had Windows ME installed, and I decided to upgrade to XP. Everything went fine, but about 3 hours later, my system crashed, and I was unable to log on to Windows again. I tried safe mode, Last known config, etc. Everything. I re-partitioned my hard drive, and formatted it. I kept getting error messages about errors with the hard drive. It finally just stopped working. I put another hard drive and it didn't recogonize it either. Could you help me please? Is it the Hard drives? Or my Cpu??

Thank you

Darien

Before upgrade to winxp, you need to perform a hardware compatilibilty list to ensure winxp can be installed you may need to upgrade your BIOS, memory, CPU and format your hard drive Most likely your hard drive needs to be change the first sector of the hard drive stores the MBR and if that is damaged, then your system will not startup Try aonther hard drive.

Recheck your hard drive cables to ensure it seated properly.

Good luck!
