How to stop spyware?

I cannot change my internet explorer home page and when I called cox support they stated that I had spyware on my computer. I do not know how to locate and delete and monitor so that it does not happen again. Please assist.

To stop spyware from giving you pop-ups and changing your homepage is simple You can download a program called "SpyBot Search and destroy", It is free and can be downloaded from www.download.com This programs scans your entire pc and will delete any spyware that is in your computer.
