Why is my computer slow after upgradeing to win 98?

My question is, I have now windows 95 on my computer when I install windows 98 it runs very slow, What do I have to do, WINDOWS 98 INSTALLS OK BUT RUNS VERY VERY SLOW. tHANKS..............

Windows 98 is much more memory intensive then win 95 It's recomended to upgrade ram when moving to a more memory intensive OS

NOTE: 256MB's ram is more then enough for 98.
