I reformated my computer a couple of weeks ago, and every since then the computer does not always recognize that it has a cd-rw drive (D: Drive) and the times it does know it has a D: drive it locks up and I have to do the control +alt + delete thing, after I reformated ,the D: drive worked long enough for me to install the software for the printer,scanner and the cd-rw

Was cd-rw drive apart of the computer when you brought it also some cd-rw drives need the software to be implanted inorder for the drive to work properly
there could also be a chance that your cd-rw drive could have errors or have some problem in side i suggest that if this problem continues to have some one check the commponents of the inside of the d-drive to make sure there are no problems
if this doesnt work and you have a warrenty on the cd-rw drive all the manuifacter and have it replaced.
