What is a operating problem

My friend has a Gateway pc about 1 yr old and is experiencing problems upon power down. When the system is shutdown it boots and specifies to press F10 to boot from hard drive. Then the screen will display multicolored "green" screen and then shut down again.

From what i see your friends computer may be currubted with a virus or he must have deleted

an important file from his harddrive which could cause this type of problem suggest that when he reboots to press F5 to go to safemode here he can scan for viruses and fix errors

if that doesnt work to call the manufactuer and ask them if they cant help then he should reformat his system he will lose

all his saved documents but any file that may have been deleted that can help the computer work better will be restored.
