Hello,

I'm running Windows ME on my home PC with IE ver 6.0.2800.1106

The problem is that sometimes when I log off the Internet, a file gets placed on my desktop. The file's name is the character "~", it has a file size of 0 and no other info is available on the file.

Can you tell me what's going on? I've got Norton Internet Security 2004 installed and running, it's not detected any virii.

Thanks,

Jason Hunt

You can relax the file that you are seeing is not a virus or the cause of one That file is a temp or temporary file, most likely caused by Norton Internet Security, I have seen this before on some computers and it is not a problem.
