Problems with monitors

My computer turned itself off and now when I turn it on the screen is like a blank motion picture reel -- like a TV with no channel.

Well it sounds like the monitor might have blown a circuit first check the cables on the back make sure they are connected currectly if they are turn on the cpu and the monitor use the buttons on the monitor to check if the settings are right if that doesnt work then your monitor is messed up and will need fixing buy a perfessional like a computer repair shop.
