Lose files

When I start up my computer it says that I am missing a file needed to run Windows. It says that I am misssing MRTRATE.VXD file.

How do I re install this?

There are a few ways to reinstall a lost file first go to my computer and right click on my properties and choose the option tools you should see an option called error-checking use it it will scan for missing files on your harddrive and tell u how to replace it either that or you could just reformat your whole hardrive which will reinstall your missing file but you will also lose all the documents you have saved on your computer.
