How do i cutomise my system tray?

Is there a way of selecting which icons appear in the system tray?. I have icons I want showing and some I do not. My operating system is windows 98 second edition.

Some programmes, utilities etc have an option to display system tray icons but others do not.

Type msconfig from the run prompt Or you can edit the run keys

Go to start>run type in regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Delete everything you don't need from that key.

Becarefull do not delete something you need.
