I shut down my computer, and within 10 minutes it re-starts it's self. I go back to the Start menu and select turn off computer, select shut-down and it goes through the process of shutting down, I listen for the whole system to shut-down, and it does. But within 10 minutes or so, it starts itself back up. It won't shut-down permenately until I decide to start it again.

I've checked for viruses, spy-ware or other app's that I didn't install, haven't found anything like that. I've checked msconfig, system services....What could be the problem?

I have found in the mscofig a line that does not have a name, just square symbols, and it says it's a microsoft\windowsNT\current version....it looks like this.

[][][][][]____[][][][][]....microsoft\windowsNT\current version...

I've also found an app or page that has the tilde symbol on my system..... ~

But I remove this app whenever I see it.

What is happening or can you help me to allieveate this concern or problem.

You need to check that your heatsink/fan combo is seated correctly, and there's good contact between the heatsink and the surface of the CPU The temperature is probably whats is causing the pc to re-boot on its own Make your there is nothing blocking the back of the pc that might stop the air from flowing properly.
