Computer starts by itself in the early morning, after being shut down the previous night. It may be starting with an incomming phone call.

Click on start, then programs-accessories-system tools/scheduled tasks When in scheduled tasks, make sure the detailed view is checked in view You should see a list of things that are scheduled to run and the times and days Click on each task and at the bottom of the task dialog will be a check in the enable box Remove the checkmark and the task won't run If you want a task to run at a certain time and day, run the wizard and follow the instructions Also boot into the CMOS Setup program and look at the "Power Management Setup" section If there is a "State After Power Failure" entry or such, make sure it is set to OFF (not ON) A glitch on the power line can cause the system board to start the system back up when it is off.
