I am hearing audio pulses semiregularly that are very much like the XP pulse for "Device Connect" and "Device Disconnect" when I play back these sound from the Device Manager. Additionally, as these pulses play my mouse functions are inhabited. What must I do to clear this?

Your answer is almost in the question You're apparently using an USB mouse; and it would appear that it either - needs to be unplugged and reseated into the USB port on your computer - or needs to be replaced due to a faulty connection between the computer and mouse I would also suggest you try plugging the mouse into another USB port.

The sounds you hear are being caused by a constant connection flux between your computer and mouse Therefore, fix the mouse.. you'll fix the audio.

Hope this helps.
