I recently upgraded my harddrive from 20 to 120 GB, now I hear once and a while occassional noise like a grumbling sound. I also detect a slight but not unpleasant electical smell in my home office. The grumbling sound seems to come and go, it sounds like my harddrive is processing something. My question is, is this normal? should I just ignore the grumbling sound since it does not stay or take it in to gateway and have the fan replaced. My system is still under warranty. any info you can share will be greatly appreciated. Ed B. Phoenix

No that is not normal and since you said that you have a warranty, I would recomend you to take it and have the repair shop fix it This might be a power supply problem that can burn your motherboard or some other device This could potentially lead to a fire.
