I need more memory.I now have only 128MB. I have two slots. Can I install one 512 ddr chip or do I have to install 2 256 ddr chips?

Depending on your motherboard, you may only be able to upgrade your memory to a certain point The first thing to do is to research the documentation on your motherboard to find out the maximum amount of memory it can handle If the memory you are installing does not exceed the limit, you may install the modules in either configuration of one 512MB stick or two 256MB modules.
