Why system is crashing regularly?

at least once a day my system locks up. When I enter ctrl alt del I get a message that explorer is not responding. I have been stoping the program. Then I restrart the computer and all will be fine for about another day.

1 Eliminate the power supply as the source Check the voltage output of the power supply Install a line conditioner and/or replace the power supply

2 Run a current version of antivirus software to check for a virus

3 Eliminate the unnecessary Too many devices on a system may be overtaxing the power supply Too many TSRs running may be interfering with software Check the Taskbar for extraneous applets Reduce the Startup folder to a minimum

4 For Windows 9x, replace any real mode device drivers with 32-bit drivers where you can.

5 Reseat the CPU and memory modules

6 Check the system board for damage, shorts, frayed traces, or bad connections
