How to get rid of pop-ups and spyware?

Hello i am having few problems with my pc, first my hompage in internet explorer changes by itself and i get alot of pop-ups recently. And some times programs install and put icons on the desktop. what can i do to stop this from hapenning? thank you.

Seems like you have some spyware installed on your pc, or maybe a virus You should scan your pc with anti-virus software Then to remove spyware download a free program from www.lavasoftusa.com the program is called Ad-Aware 6.0 This will remove any unwanted objects from your registry that cause all the ad's and pop-ups Also you can download the google toolbar at google.com This is a great tool that blocks most pop-ups that you may recieve.
