My son has somehow managed to download some sort of "spydersearch.com" search bar that now loads everytime IE opens. We now have all kinds of porno pop ups that I am asuming came along with this nice new tool bar. We can make the toolbar go away by de-selecting it from the toolbar view list, however it returns whenever you start up IE again.

We've used a "spyware" program to supposedly remove (unsuccessfully) this type of software. Is there something we can do to get rid of this toolbar?

First scan you computer with anti-virus software like Norton and make sure you have the latest updates Next go to control panel and add/remove programs and check for any programs that are there that you have not installed Usually when you get a toolbar it may install itself You should also download this free program that gets rid of any spyware or adware that is installed on your pc It is called Ad-Aware 6.0 and can be downloaded at www.lavasoftusa.com Once you download that scan your computer and it will remove all objects found in your registry and files that may cause these problems Afetr that i recommend you download the Google toolbar This really cuts down on the pop-ups Download it at www.google.com
