Why does my monitor adjust my settings?

HELLO DATA DOCTORS I HAVE A PROBLEM When using the computer, all of the sudden, the monitor, goes black.

THE DISPLAY SETTINGS ARE SET TO 800X600 H:53.6K V:85HZ

AFTER THE MONITOR GOES BLACK, THE SETTINGS ARE 720X400 H:31.4K V:70HZ

THIS THING HAS BEEN DRIVING ME CRAZY FOR A MONTH.

Well friend Maybe the monitor is not compatible with the systems settings, it could be shutting off to a setting that is right for the monitor Try updating the driver for your monitor.
