How do i fix SVCHOST.EXE errors?

since installing windows 2000 i receive the following error mesage whenever i am online. "svchost.exe has generated errors and will be shut down by windows. you will need to restart the program. an error log is being created." this results in not being able to print or download emails. it also prevents access to links within emails. in addition, after receiving this error message whenthe connection with the isp is broken if reconnection is attempted without rebooting the computer a runtime error message is generated. can you help?

To solve svchost.exe problems in WINDOWS 2000 try downloading the utility "Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB823980)" from Microsoft site
