When I turn on my computer, the computer loads but does not send any signals to the monitor so it does not switch on. I can solve this problem by turning the power off at the plug and then back on again then booting but would like a more sustainable way of turning on the pc. Is it a problem with the PC or the monitor? Many thanks in advance for the help.

The monitor is attached to the tower in (2) ways:

1 via video card attachment.

2 via power plug which is plugged into the power supply of the tower.

If you have these connections in place properly, then you need to make sure that the monitor's power button is and will remain in the ON phase this should allow the monitor to power down when you shut down the PC and power up when you turn your PC back on.

If this is done and you are still getting the problem, the connection from the monitor to the video card may be severed; maybe some of the pins inside the parallel connection are broken.

If so and the cable cannot be detached from the monitor itself and replaced, then you will need to buy a new monitor.
