My computer worked fine this morning. I came home form work and tried to install a new graphic card. when i tried to start up the computer, it started the process of booting up. the floopy drive light came on, the dvd drive light came on, then the cd drive light came on...then the computer just turns off. i put the old graphics card back in but it still does the same thing. i start it up and the drive lights come on then the computer shuts off. what would cause it to do this? did i blow something up by putting in the new card or is it something that can be fixed?

thanks.

You said that when you booted up your PC you saw the CD ROM light come on, the floppy drive light come on, and the DVD drive light come, and then it shuts off.

You more than likely may have somehow disconnected the hard drive It may not be disconnected totally, it might be connected only partially, hanging on to a partial connection.

You need to reopen your tower and check the connection for the hard drive Check its connection to the motherboard as well as its connection to the power supply That should solve that problem since the hard drive contains all your executibles needed for boot up, not to mention it holds the operating system.
