My Hard drive has been replaced by the company, it was bad, I added 256k's of memory and I still get lots of screen freezes, very slow slow start up and working ability. I also get cut off from

internet a lot, and pop ups saying I am out of memory, but I also keep my email cleaned out,

I defrag monthly and I do and all over clean up regularly. What is wrong. Do I just need a new computer, its coming up 4 years old. Sometimes it also tells me I have to many programs open when I only have one thing open.

Thanks A lot.

Firstly, what Operating System do you have on your computer?

Any Operating system above Win98/ME/SE, you need at least 2GB space on the hard drive with at least 1.5GB free space, also on the hard drive.

In terms of memory, 256MB of RAM is good, or should have been However, upgrade it to 512MB of RAM.

The other questions you wnat to answer is what size is your harddrive and what speed is your CPU?

You ashould have anywhere between a 40GB to an 80GB hard drive and the CPU has to a Pentium II with 300MHZ or better.

If yiou find that you cannot upgrade your CPU, you will need to replace the motherboard or buy another tower.
