When opening a new window, it alwats used to appear on the taskbar at botton of screen. Recently many windows do not show here anymore - they may have not opened at all or may be open but hidden behind the onscreen window. For instance, several attenpts to open browserand nothing showing but if I press control/alt/delete, they are all listed as open.

Can you please give any advice regarding the cause and solution. I have windows 98 second edition.

Thank you

Alan

Run scan disk and defragmenter Also run your antivirus software At DOS command prompt, use copy command to copy the file to a floppy disk When the error message appear:

Unable to read drive C;Abort, ignore, retry, choose ignore You can retrive some of your files with this method.

Another way is by using DOS Restart your computer on MS-DOS At the DOS prompt, type LOCK to make FAT available to DOS Use the UNDELETE command to recover the file Type UNLOCK to release the file system to applications Type EXIT to relaunch Win 9x.
