How do I get msn chat to work?

just reformatted cant get msn chat rooms to load get x not smiley face. tried all msn help nothing works.

When you are registered in msn and trying to get into chat usually before you go in it asks you to download a specific program to chat using msn, you probably don't have the program needed All you have to do is log on msn go to chat and it will prompt you to download the program
