If your 'Pictures', 'Music', and 'My Computer' are not able to open up, the chances of you having a corrupted file is very possible A file that is necessary for windows to run properly You did mention that you get an error message saying "Windows cannot find such and such file", so that gives me reason enough to believe that an important file is missing I suggest for you to set your computer back to an earlier date Click on Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore Your computer automatically creates restore points at a specified date and time Try restoring back a month earlier just to be on the safe side If this doesn't seem to solve the problem, my second suggestion would be to re-install your operating system for everything to run properly again So wipe clean those dusty re-installation cd(s) that came along with your computer when you first purchased it and pop them into your cd-rom Follow the instructions on the monitor to complete the re-installation Good Luck!!
