When I start my 4-year old computer everything starts up right, but when the wallpaper is on the screen and the windows log on sound is finish none of my icons appear on the screen and there is no toolbar to change any of this. Plus the mouse arrrow does not show up. and a blue screen use to appear and says local disks C files have been lost and deleted. I tried to use the recovery disks but I cannot use without the start toolbar on the bottom of the screen because it is gone.

The fact that you have gotten a message that says local disks C files have been lost and deleted,

is a clear indication of the problem you are having You will need to reinstall Windows onto your computer from the very begin.

Delete all the existing partitions and create a new one to reinstall the operating system on.

You are going to have to start from the very beginning.

After reinstalling the OS, then reinstall all the software and see what happens from there.

If the problems persists even after the reinstall, the problem may be the hard drive.

You may have currupted sectors on the hard drive and you will need to replace the hard drive.

And once again, start all over.
