My taskbar periodically disappears completely from the bottom of the screen. If you move the mouse over where it should be, you get the "working in background" or "busy" cursor (whichever it is). Also, when the taskbar is there, the volume icon has left the systray. I went into taskbar properties and made sure "always show" was selected...it is...but still nothing. Oh yeah, other programs listed in there are all showing the wrong icons...like where Volume is listed, it doesn't show the regular volume icon, but rather a folder icon. All the others are wrong too. Sure hope you can help...seems we've been having one problem after another. By the way, the modem sounds are coming through the desktop speakers rather than the internal speaker...had it fixed once and it went right back again :o(

Usually the taskbar disappears when you accidently drag it to the bottom of your screen Here's how to get it back:

1. Move your mouse to the bottom of the screen (or the side where you saw it last) until the mouse shows the double arrows indicating that you are about to resize something.

2. Stretch the taskbar up until it is visible.

You can also resize and recover your taskbar using the keyboard

1. Hit the Ctrl and Esc keys.

2. Hit the Alt key and the spacebar.

3. Press S.

4. Use the up arrow to resize the taskbar.
