I recently came home from school one day and found that my computer just started beeping incessantly everytime i did something on it. I frequently leave my computer on for days and before I had left that day I had not done anything to it prior to leaving (Computer was on but just sitting there, ie. not downloading or anything) So believing it was a virus I did a scan on my computer and found two virus'. One was called Dial\wsv-a and the other was called hantanera. I installed norton anti-virus as well as Sophos anti-virus and the software said it has cleaned the virus'. The computer stilled beeps so i just decided to format my C drive. I still have a D drive which i have not formatted. After formatting it still beeps. When I go into safe mode it does not beep. I unplugged my D drive and it still beeps. I then unplugged my C and put on my D only and it still beeps. I have no idea what to do now. The beeping seems to occur everytime i run a process that accesses my hard drive. I was using internet explorer and everytime i scrolled down using the wheel on my mouse it would beep as well. I have no idea what it could be. PLEASE HELP ME!!

Jimmy

If you have installed (2) antivirus programs and they have "cleaned" the viruses out; you have unpluuged both C and D drives and still no resolution, the only thing is replace the your computer to be o the safe side.

The circuitry on the motherboard may be infected with the virus and that may causing the incessant beeping If this is the case, and it sounds like it is so, replacing the entire system is the best option For the money it may cost you to get someone to troubleshoot the problem especially if it lies in the motherboard, it would more cost effective to buy a new computer
