my computer will not recognize any of my hard drives except the floppy and of course C:/

I have no idea what happened to my D:/ drive (HL-DT-ST-CD-RW GCE-8400B) or my DVD/CD drive (HL-DT-ST DVD -ROM GDR8160B). Ive tried everything I can think of...what can I do?

Hopefully, what you have not thought of is opening the tower ( of course, making sure that everything has been powered down ), and making that the data cable connections are in place properly; not only to the drives themselves, but to the motherboard as well.

Now if these are new devices you are trying to intergrate in your configuration, then you must make sure the drivers for those pieces of equipment are installed whether by the driver CD's that accompany the devices or by PnP (Plug and Play) which will automatically recognize the device you have installed and install the drivers for theat device for you.
