What is causing my computer to halt?

my pc halted when i use it after a period of time i dont know why

iam traying to use an other fan for my processor but it does not work

i think that it is the RAM . how could it effect in the computer?

I don't think it is the RAM However, if that were the possibility, it would depend on how far into the boot process you reached.

Since you stated that you used computer for a period of time, I think it is safe to our rule RAM as being the problem.

What might the problem is your processor If your fan is not working properly, then the processor(CPU) will overheat and cause the computer to halt or shut down The CPU fan must securely placed over the CPU so as to properly cool the CPU and prevent it from overheating.

If the fan is not working properly, it must be replaced before you can use the computer any further.

The other problem may be the power supply If the power supply is cluttered with dust, that will also cause the computer to halt or even shut down It should be kept as clean as possible.

You also want to go inside the tower and make sure that the power supply is properly plugged into the motherboard as well as the drives.
