HOW DOES ONE RECOVER C DRIVE, GET BACK UP AND RUNNING. WHY DID NORTON UTILITES (NEWLY INSTALLED) KNOCK OUT C DRIVE WHEN I DID WHAT IT RECOMMENDED TO DO I.E. START UTILITYS PROGRAM ?

This question was answered on April 16, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

What part of the utilities program did you start? Norton has a few utility functions on it such as SCANDisk, FDisk, sacnning for virues, etc.

Did you have it scan for a virus?

Did you ask it to FDisk the hard drive? If so, you may have deleted the partitions on the hard drive, wiping out everyhting on it This would be the only way you could "knock out" you C drive.

The only recourse from this is to reconfigure your hard drive from the very beginning.
