What is a browser

I've been using Netscape 4.9 for email as well as browsing for a long time and am finding more and more sites that it doesn't work on OR it works slow. Other than MS IE and Outlook ... looking for NEW browser/email program(s) to replace Netscape. Don't want to update to Netscape 9 I think is latest version .... since AOL bought them out .... NEVER liked AOL or it's software .... I was told by "nameless" ISP provider they treat AOL software like a virus ... I agreed. Thanks for your consideration and advice in advance. Don't get to listen to your show as often as I'd like to but keep up the good job!
