Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.A little known feature in Windows, StickyKeys is a handy aid that is designed to help people with mobility problems Using important Shortcuts like CTRL-ALT-DEL becomes easier to execute, because StickyKeys replaces the need to press 2 or 3 keys at the same time.
To enable StickyKeys:
* Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Accessibility Options
* Check the Use StickyKeys box.
Using StickyKeys is very simple Just hit the CTRL or SHIFT or ALT button and then the corresponding key to execute the desired function For example, to open a file, just hit the CTRL button and then the "O" key You don't need to press both keys at the same time.
Once activated, stickykeysyou'll notice the StickyKeys icon in the System Tray (located in the right side of your Taskbar) It appears as 3 rectangles that represent the Shift, CTRL and ALT keys It acts as a visual aid When you hit the SHIFT button, the top rectangle becomes highlighted When you hit CTRL, the bottom left rectangle becomes highlighted.
If you right-click on the StickyKeys icon, you can show the "Status Window" or go to "Adjust StickyKeys Settings."
Customize the StickyKeys settings by checking the Use Shortcut box to turn StickyKeys on and off by hitting the SHIFT key five times; or turn StickyKeys off by hitting two buttons at once; or tell Windows to make a sound whenever a modifier key like CTRL, ALT or SHIFT is pressed.
