Whenever I try to start an application, I get this error message - "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an Association in the Folder Options control panel." I'm not sure what it is looking for me to do. Also, it won't let me access my registry keys to edit them. It will not allow me to reinstall windows xp.
In addition, my System32 folder opens up everytime I start the computer. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can start by clearning out your Start Up folder
Go to Start > All Programs > Start Up and remove everything from there
Next you can go to Start > Run > type in 'msconfig' > Start Up and uncheck things that you don't need running in the background there.
