How do I get my internet to work, using a cable modem?

I had a cable modem hooked up to my laptop, however I can not gain access to the internet. The laptop has been set to use a dial-up connection. How can I change the laptop to use the cable modem instead of trying to use a dial-up connection? Where on the computer do I go the fix this? Thank you.

Right click your computer icon Then click the properties option You must then click the hardware button You will then see a hardware wizard button Click this button to install the driver for your modem It will ask you if you have a disk, install now Once set-up is complete, You will go into your browser and click the connections button Click the set-up button then add your modem This should work.
