What is shortcut?

When running "My Computer" from a shortcut on the quick launch toolbar, the CD icon does not change when I eject a CD or change a CD. It works fine when I run "My Computer" not using a shortcut.

At the end of the day a shortcut is only a command, you can try delete that short cut and make another one and see if the new one works well.
