I just received an email warning me about a new virus called WTC Survivor. WTC stands for World Trade Center. It claims to wipe out all your .dll files. Does this virus exist or is it a hoax?

Thank you.

Steve,

One way to find out if a warning is real or a hoax is to go to Hoaxbusters.org This website lists active hoaxes It also has a section that lists the current viruses based on trustworthy sites After researching your question, I found that the WTC is a hoax not an actual virus.

Thanks for your question
