What is software?

My DIVISE MANAGER does not show my cd rom as being installed, under HARD DISK

CONTROLER, the two items PRIMARY IDE CONTROLER (DUAL FIFO) and

SECONDARY IDE CONTROLLER ETC, I assumed

this part of the problem and I REMOVED THEM, I got a response that both these

two items are part of PARENT DEVISE, SIS 5513 DUAL PCI IDE CONTROLLER.

I then removed PARENT DEVISE, and advised that for this to take effect I had to

shut down. at this time it auto attempted to shut down and restart at which time

the system locked up. negating my REMOVAL OF the above. Any suggestions??

You will need to reinstall the drivers for your CD rom and these drivers are located on your recovery disk.
