How can I get my software to run successfully?

Dear Folks,

I've been running my system for about seven years now, and have been happy with it (with a few minor upgrades). However, recently I've had a bug surface when installing some new software.

I will successfully install the program, and it will run fine. However, after restarting it will either fail to go past introductory screens, or give me an error message stating that the .exe file has changed since the last time I used it, and perhaps I ought to search for a virual infection.

I have no viruses (have always run a firewall and other security precautions), and this only happens with some software (Nero, Freespace). If I reinstall the software it is fine, but then crashes after restart again. Frustrating!

Thanks for your help!

David

Your old operating system can't support the new software This is because 98 lacks the new updates needed to run programs likes Nero and Freespace You should update your os to windows XP Then reinstall your software.
