When I open My Computer (or Windows Explorer) by double

clicking its icon on my Desktop, the My Computer window

opens but a moving flashlight appears in the middle. On

the status bar it says "Searching for items..." It takes

about 2 to 3 minutes or so before the disk drives (Drive

A, C, D) and My Documents folder and Shared Folder

appear. This is unacceptable and it has been happening

since yesterday. When I close the window and open My

Computer again, same results 2 to 3 minute delay before I

can access any files. I've tried rebooting, defragging,

restarting, and turning my PC on and off.

To whom it may concern:

Try unplugging all your CD-ROM's and Floppy drive (everything but your hard drives) and start your computer When your computer starts click My Computer again, and see if this problem persists, if not it must be one of your other drive, if it still does try Defragmenting.

To defrag right click your C drive, click on propetries, tools tab, and defragment now, then click Defragment to start defragmenting your hard drive.

Sincerely,

Dimitrios Theodorou
