Why does my computer constantly shutdown

My mother got the virus and called me. So I read your page about the virus and it sent me to the download page.

The question:

With the computer shutting itself down, we can't download the correction. I can't find anything (on the pages I've seen) that offers the tip when this is the case.

Any tips?

Because her unit is not in front of me, I can't answer the questions on the system setup with even 80% accuracy.

Check to see if the fan on the computer is working properly, see if it is not spinning or spinning very slowly This will cause the computer to overheat an shutdown If there is something wrong with your fan take it to a repair shop.
