Spyware problems?

Active X seems to be blocked. All of the sercurity settings for IE 6.0 are clicked correctly to activate and receive Active X sites but they keep being blocked. I am told that Spyware or Adware may be the culprit. How can I fix this problem?

get Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware Install both programs, update

them and scan your pc and remove everything that they find.
